There are hundreds of apps related to photography on the App Store. The iSight camera is powerful enough already and the apps serve to make the photos look like they’re taken on a DSLR with all the various effects and filters.
It would be impossible to take note of every great camera app that comes up on the app store but there are a few that have been very useful and popular over the years. Here’s a list of some such photography apps for the iPhone (and the iPad too). Take a look.
And don’t forget to add yours in the comments! We’d love to explore new apps and review them here!
Best iPhone Photography Apps for Aspiring Photographers:
1. Facebook Camera
If you’re merely looking to take quick pictures and then upload them to your Facebook account, Facebook’s own app will do. It’s a simple app with a few filters and crop options. The only real benefit is that you can upload a lot of photos at once (as albums) and also check out photos on your news feed right from within the app.

2. Camera Timer
Camera Timer is a very essential app if you need to automate the shutter. This feature isn’t available on the iPhone’s camera naturally and so, you’ll need an app like Camera Timer to create automated shutter controls. The Camera Timer is simple, free and easy to use.

Camera+ is perhaps the most popular camera app on the iTunes App Store. It features some really amazing features that you’ll find on high-end digital cameras like scene models, effects, zoom, continuous flash, advanced burst settings and more.
4. Color Splash
Color Splash does precisely what Photoshop color filters do. You can isolate and color specific parts of your greyscale photos so that you get that isolated-color effect. While most digital cams don’t have the feature within them, you can weave magic with your iPhone and this $1 app.

5. TiltShift Generator
I’m a fan of tilt-shift photography. It adds some really amazing depth to an otherwise dull image. But tilt-shift is often possible only with high-end DSLRs (coupled with some good photo editing capability). TiltShift Generator makes all that simple and easily possible right on your iPhone and iPad. The free version is good to go if you’re not looking to add the effect to captured photos. If not, this is the one you need.

6. Auto Adjust
Adjusting the color, saturation, contrast, brightness and a host of other things can be nerve-racking but with an app like Auto Adjust, you get to make it simpler and easier. The app is particularly helpful for indoor photos, natural light photos (photos taken at twilight, dawn etc.) and can easily enhance the brightness and saturation.
