iPhone 7/7Plus can easily be described as the best smartphone available in market thanks to superior performance, unmatched speed and the feature-rich iOS 10. However, there is one department where the flagship smartphone from the most valuable brand in the world doesn’t even come close to its rival is the battery life– just like its predecessors.
According to a test done by U.K. Consumers’ Association magazine Which?, iPhone 7 has been found to have the worst battery life as compared to its rival smartphones. Based on a number of tests in keeping with different usage, iPhone 7 battery life has finished last as against Samsung Galaxy S7, HTC 10, and LG 5.
iPhone 7 Battery Life Found to be Poorest As Compared to Rivals
“Whilst the iPhone 7’s 712 minutes of call time (nearly 12 hours) may sound acceptable, the rival Samsung Galaxy S7 lasted twice as long – and it doesn’t even have the longest lasting battery. The HTC 10 lasted an incredible 1,859 minutes (that’s almost 31 hours).”
While iPhone 7 has been found to provide just 712 minutes of 3G call time, Samsung Galaxy S7 delivers 1492, LG G5 1579, HTC 10 offers the maximum 1859 minutes of 3G call time.
“When it comes to internet browsing time, arguably the more important measurement, the results were a lot closer. Close, but the iPhone 7 still came bottom. The 615 minutes of battery life offered by the iPhone 7 is 25 minutes less than its nearest rival, the LG G5, and 175 minutes less than the top performing HTC 10. In fact, the HTC 10’s 3G internet browsing time was even longer than the iPhone 7’s 3G call time. It doesn’t make for pretty reading for Apple.” – Which?
Whereas iPhone 7 offers just 615 minutes of internet browsing time, LG G5 640, Galaxy S7 677, HTC 10 provides huge 790 minutes of 3G internet use.
Of course, iPhone had never been about huge battery life. But given the competition, its high time Apple changed its strategy. What do you think?
