Is the touchscreen of your iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max not working or unresponsive? If yes, we will work it out and fix it. However, before we dig in, it is essential to know why this happens.
Why touchscreen on iPhone 11 series stops working?
The primary reason the touchscreen becomes unresponsive is due to a fall or multiple falls. If this is the case, there is little you can do as it becomes a hardware challenge and not something that can be addressed by simple tricks and how-tos.
So, if you dropped your iPhone and screen stops working, most likely, you will have to visit an Apple Store or an authorized third party shop. But there are instances where the screen becomes unresponsive only when you are inside a particular app.
Does iPhone touchscreen become unresponsive in a specific app?
If your iPhone 11’s screen refuses to input touch and stops working when you are inside a particular app, then most likely, it is the app’s fault. To fix this, you may go to the homescreen and try restarting your iPhone.
In case that does not help, uninstall the app in question, and reinstall it. If this too does not help, you may try switching off Wi-Fi or Mobile data and try to use that app. This is okay for apps that do not require internet, but if the app giving screen troubles needs internet, then the only hopeful step is to contact the developer, explain them the problem, and request them to address it.
To contact an app developer, search for that app inside the App Store, tap on it, and scroll down. You will find a link for the Developer Website. Tap on that and contact them using the website’s Contact Us page.
By the time it is fixed, you may find alternatives to that app and use them. Who knows, you may stumble upon a better app!
Now that we are clear of some prerequisites, let us move forward. So, if you neither dropped your iPhone 11 and if your touch screen woes are not limited to a certain app, read on. I have listed some easy possible fixes.

Restart or Force Restart Your iPhone
The first thing to do is to restart your device. Now, you may wonder how you will turn off your iPhone when the screen is not working. Well, there is a way to reboot your iPhone 11 series even without using the touchscreen. To do so,
Step #1. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
Step #2. Now, press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
Step #3. Immediately after, press and hold the Side button (Power ON/OFF button) until you see the Apple logo.
Ask Siri to Turn on Airplane Mode on iPhone
Step #1. Press the side button or use Hey Siri to summon Siri.
Step #2. Ask Siri to ‘Turn On Airplane Mode.‘
Step #3. When Siri asks, ‘Are you sure?’ say yes.
Now, after 30 seconds, try to use your iPhone’s touchscreen. Hopefully, it should work.
Make Sure Your iPhone is Not Wet
We both know that iPhone 11 series is waterproof. But even waterproof devices have a limit. If you believe your device was underwater or rain for an extended period, then quickly dry it.
First of all, try to wipe the touchscreen with a dry cloth. Even if it starts to become a little responsive, use it and turn your phone off. Switch it on when you believe that it might be dry.
Note: Never plug a wet iPhone (or any device) to a charger, computer, or any external power source.
Connect to a Computer or Charger
Another simple hack is to connect your device to a computer using which you synced before. It may fix the touch screen problem. Even if it does not help fix the touchscreen issue, you may make a backup for safety.
Alternatively, you may also connect your iPhone to a charger. Now, this is not a full shot method, but there is no harm in trying.
Let it Charge Fully
Another hack that requires patience is to let your iPhone fully charge and try using it afterwards. When it is charging, do not fiddle with it. Let it comfortably charge up to one hundred percent.
Reset Your iPhone
If your iPhone’s screen is completely unusable, head on to the next solution. However, if it works (but with difficulty), try to reset your iPhone.
Update your iPhone using Computer
You may try updating your iPhone by connecting it to a Mac or PC you usually use to backup. The following guides will help you. If you are not successful here, try restoring.
Backup and then Restore using a Computer
Did nothing work? Try Backup and Restore. This is a big step, and usually, it addresses most of the software-based issues that your iPhone has accumulated throughout regular usage. Before you proceed, make sure you have a backup.
DFU stands for Device Firmware Upgrade. This is the last step you can take. If your iPhone still has touchscreen problems after trying DFU mode, then you can be pretty sure that it is related to hardware.
DFU removes everything from your device and reinstalls the whole software again. All your data will be lost. So ensure you do this only if you have a backup or do not have important data on your iPhone that you can not download from the cloud.
Contact Apple Store and Get the Screen Replaced
Did nothing work for you? Well, it is time to get on your feet and visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Centre. You may try to contact Apple Support via chat or call, but they too may not be of much help. Paying an in-store visit would be the best.
Here, they will most likely replace your screen. It will be costly if you do not have an Apple Care plan.
After you are successful and the touchscreen starts working, follow the points given below
Once you are successful and fix the problems you are having with the touchscreen, keep the following points in mind for the future.
Avoid running too many tasks/apps: Now, this may seem too grave and even pointless. The whole idea of having a flagship, expensive phone is to open multiple apps and work as you like. But if you had touch screen issues, avoid running multiple apps until the next iOS update.
Free Space on Your iPhone: Is your iPhone filled with files and apps. It is time to free up some space. Delete random photos or back them to Google Photos or iCloud. Also, delete or offload apps you do not frequently use. Offloading will remove the app but keep its data for future use.

Update iOS: Once your touchscreen starts working (without restoring, updating, or DFU mode, in earlier steps), make sure you are on the latest version of iOS. To do so, launch the Settings app → General → Software Update. If you have a pending update, download and install it.
A word of caution before you go: For fixing touch screen issues on earlier iPhone models, some sites recommend pushing the screen from the right side. This may fix the problem of a loose screen connector. However, on iPhone 11, I would ask that you proceed with the sincerest precaution. Do not try anything grave that might magnify the problem. With this positive note, I am signing off.
These were some of the ways to fix the iPhone 11’s unresponsive touch screen. I hope one of the methods listed above (except visiting the Apple Service Centre) was helpful.
