We love our iPhones and let’s be honest iOS 8 looks fantastic. With the iOS 8 Beta version being seeded to developers only a couple of days back, we were not sure if we have a jailbreak option for it already or not.
However, Stefan Essar, aka i0n1c, brings us good news that iOS 8 (beta) can, infact, be jailbroken quite easily! Here is why:
#1. iOS 7.1.1 and iOS 8 are fraternal twins: Stefan Essar was the very mastermind who successful jailbroke iOS 7.1.1. He closely combed through the iOS 8 beta version and found that iOS 7.1.1 and iOS 8 are simply fraternal twins. The coding is similar and there are no patches to the jailbreak that was put in place for iOS 7.1.1.
#2. No Separate Program Coding Needed: Because of the familial relation between iOS 7.1.1 and iOS 8 and the lack of jailbreak patches in iOS 8 (beta), it is clear that the jailbreaking will not need any tedious programming and coding to start afresh.
#3. A Quick Code Fix will do: i0n1c made it clear through his tweets that he will simply need to stay back at the office for a few hours and fix the iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak code to make it compatible with iOS 8. While that could be an exaggeration, it is still clear that the task is not a herculean one!
Download finished. Initial tests show that iOS 8 beta does not fix anything. Dumped kernel fine, but code changed and patches are not found.

i0n1c had released a video showing the iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak. Only time will tell if he can work his quick magic with iOS 8.
It is still early to be absolutely certain that the smart guys at Apple will not be putting jailbreak patches in place for the final release of iOS 8. Since this is just the beta version we are playing around with, there are chances the Apple puts a few patches in place by fall.
We are looking forward to seeing some really good work from iOS 8, especially after it is jailbroken. Let’s see how it all unfolds.
i0n1c will most likely not release any public jailbreak tool or talk more about the exploit. For obvious reasons, no dev will talk about the jailbreak exploits when we’re in iOS 8 beta. But that the possibility exists is in itself a good news. (Too bad i0n1c doesn’t work with evad3rs or even Saurik for that matter; no hopes for collaborative effort at the moment).
