iOS 12 Update Pop-up Irritates Beta Testers; Issue Fixed with the Latest Beta

If you are using iOS 12 beta on your iPhone or iPad, you must have faced that nasty bug that tells you to update your device from iOS 12 beta. Luckily, Apple has address this issue in a jiffy by rolling out iOS 12 Public Beta 10 and developer beta 12.

Update [31-August-2018]: Apple has released new update (Install iOS 12 Public Beta | Install iOS 12 Developer Beta) which will fix the Popup issue.

Apple’s run for the release of the latest software has never been smooth, as users always encounter bumps on the road. This time, it is a pop-up that quickly appears on the iPhone and iPad screen when the device is unlocked.

For those, who use beta iOS 12, they see a message that reads: A new iOS update is now available. Please update from the iOS 12 beta.

The problem is that most of the users think there is a new update but actually, there is no update available. For beta testers, it is painful to see this message every time they unlock their iOS devices, and each time, they have to tap on the Close button to get rid of this pop-up.

This issue has emerged since August 27, when Apple released its latest beta.

According to a developer, “It looks like this method in Springboard does some date/time calculations to determine if the current build is about to expire, every time the cover sheet gets dismissed. For some reason, the latest builds of iOS 12 think they’re about to expire.”

Whatever the reason is, currently iOS users have taken to Twitter to vent their rage against this pestering pop-up. Online forums are flooded with complaints and cries about this latest bug.

A Twitter user has used sarcastic language to raise her complaint, as she Tweeted: “Nice apple I buy your hella expensive iPhone X and you plague my iOS 12 Beta with a pop up that comes up EVERY TIME I UNLOCK MY PHONE. Sick guys.”

Notably, there is no comment from Apple about the fixing of this bug. There is no solution suggested by any iOS developer or blogger. This means users have to deal with this situation until Apple doesn’t roll out any fix.
