Apple has released iOS 10 beta 5. The public beta 4 of the latest iOS ecosystem is out as well.
As expected, both the developer and public betas include some new features and changes. With the public launch is just round the corner, Apple is leaving no stone unturned regarding refining the newest iOS version. Let’s have a quick look at some of the major features which have arrived with iOS 10 beta 5!
iOS 10 Beta 5 Features and Changes
Digital Touch Splash Screen
When taking the Digital Touch interface within Messages, the full screen shows a splash screen interpreting the different gestures for sending animated kisses, heartbeats, heartbreaks and fireballs along with sketching and tapping.
The Photos app in beta 5 is required to reprocess facial recognition. Hence, it will reset all people names and merged face data.
You will hear a new sound while locking your iPhone. It sounds like a door closing.
The new widgets panel, which can be accessed by swiping to the right, now shows the date on all iOS devices.
Smart Battery Case
As per the release note, iPhone 6 and 6s will now work properly with the Smart Battery Case. Earlier, the case used to cause the smartphone to panic.
AirPlay Audio Icons Tweaked
Apple has slightly tweaked the output icon seen in the Music app, Control Center, and other locations. Instead of headphones, it is represented by a triangle with sound waves.
The “Home” section in the Settings app has been done away with on the iPhone. However, it is still available on the iPad.
Download Apps After a Reboot With Touch ID
iOS 10 beta 5 allows you to download apps from the App Store after a reboot with Touch ID authorization without having to re-authorize yourself using your Apple ID password. It works for both free and paid downloads.
