Before you try this feature out, make sure that you are using a device that supports picture-in-picture feature; this requires 64-bit Apple A7 processor or even better. This means you must have iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, and iPad mini 2.

How to Use Slide Over Multitasking on iPad

Step #1. Launch any app on your iPad.

Step #2. Swipe your finger from the right edge of your iPad screen to left.

By this action, you can bring up a panel along with your finger. It will show you a column of app icon. If you are using this feature for the first time, it is obvious that the panel won’t show any previously opened apps. You can frequently use this feature in future and therefore, you should add more apps to the app.

For this, you can swipe down on sidebar and browse through available apps listed there. The apps are shown in box format with app icon; tap on any app you want to use.

This will push the existing app in background and the new app will appear on your iPad’s screen. This will not allow you to use both apps simultaneously; split view can help you here. After using apps, you can come out of the slide over either by tapping anywhere outside the slide over sidebar or pushing the slide over side bar back from left to right.
