Ever since Apple introduced “Walkie-Talkie” app in watchOS 5, the instant voice-messaging feature has been the envy to many eyes. To encash the opportunity, Instagram has introduced a similar feature in the Direct Message. Considering the curiosity, I thought it would be nice to run a short piece about using Instagram’s Walkie-Talkie feature to send voice messages.
The social networking app has rolled out this new feature for both iPhone and Android. So, it doesn’t matter on which side of the stream you are; you can put this new add-on into action right away.
How to Use Walkie-Talkie Feature on Instagram on iPhone or Android
Since it’s an app-specific update, steps remain the same for both, iPhone and Android. Before diving into the steps, just ensure your smartphone is running the latest version of the Instagram app.
Step #1. Launch the Instagram app on your mobile device.
Step #2. Now, tap on the Direct Message icon.
Step #3. Next, select a conversation.
Step #4. Next up, touch and hold the microphone to record the voice message.
Ensure that your recording is not more than one minute long. Once you are done, let go of the microphone. The message will be sent as an audio waveform.
Delete Walkie-talkie Voice Message on Instagram
What if you have accidentally sent the voice message and want to delete it. All you need to do is touch and hold the audio waveform and hit Unsend.
That’s all there is to it!
A Penny For Your Thoughts…
Having given this well-timed feature a try, I can say that it’s worth having a go. Times when you are on the move or wish to communicate with your funny buddy without fiddling with the software keyboard, this one can live up to your billing.
So, I’m expecting the DM to get a lot louder and funnier in the coming days!
