How to Upload iPhone Videos To YouTube: Two Methods Explained

It’s great fun to see your videos being loved and appreciated by millions of people. What if you have just captured an interesting video and are looking to upload it on YouTube?

Uploading iPhone videos to YouTube is very simple and doesn’t require much roundabout process. However, some iPhone users might not be aware of it and looking to find out how to get it done in a quick time. Thanks to the integration of social sites such as Facebook, YouTube, sharing videos has become far easier in the latest versions of iOS.

There are two ways to do so – One via Camera Roll and the other directly through YouTube app. Both are quite easy. Let’s find out!

How to upload iPhone Videos to YouTube via Camera Roll

Step #1. Go to Camera Roll and select the video you want to upload.

Step #2. Tap on the share icon from the bottom left corner.

Step #3. Now, you will see many options to share your video like, YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo etc. Tap on YouTube.

Step #4. If you are not logged in, you will be asked to log in to your account.

Step #5. Next up, you will require to give the title of the video. There are other options as well such as giving brief Description to the video, choosing the quality of the video, Standard Definition or HD, choosing the category and selecting the right audience (Public, Unlisted, Private) but these are optional.

Step #6. Once you have given the title of your video and selected other options, tap on Publish from the top of the menu.

That’s it! Now, you will have to wait for some time until the video gets uploaded.

How to Upload iPhone Video Directly from YouTube App

You can directly upload videos through the YouTube app if you wish. Here is how.

Download YouTube app from App Store, if you haven’t downloaded it yet.

Step #1. Launch YouTube.

Step #2. If you are going to upload video for the first time on the YouTube, you will have to Sign In.

Step #3. Tap on details icon from the top left corner.

Step #4. Tap on Upload icon next to My Channel.

Step #5. Select the video you want to upload from Camera Roll.

Step #6. Give the Title of the video along with other details such as description, category if you wish. Once you are done, tap on upload icon from right hand corner.

  1. It looks informative, but a bit complicated. I usually use a more efficient way (Apowersoft Phone Manager) to transfer my iPhone video to PC and then directly transfer it to Youtube. Upload any videos you want on your iphone without any limitation.

  2. Hi thanks for writing this. Do you know how to switch between managed accounts on Camera Roll? For example a business and personal account that are both linked to the same email address at login stage for both Google+ and YouTube. On both those platforms, when you login you normally have the option to select which user profile to use. With camera roll, there does not seem to be that option. Therefore at the moment all my videos are being uploaded to a personal youtube channel and not a business one – any ideas here, massively appreciated. Thanks, Peter

    • Yes. At this moment there isn’t seem any option to switch between managed accounts from Camera roll or YouTube official app. Videos will be uploaded to your default personal profile.
