Siri keeps track of your entire activity and offers suggestions in apps, search, and look up accordingly. As a result, you can quickly access important info, get smart shortcuts to carry out oft-repeated tasks faster and more. However, some of you may find it a bit too much and hence would want to turn off specific app Siri Suggestions or completely disable Siri Suggestions in iOS 12.
Luckily, iOS offers you the desired freedom to control Siri Suggestions on your iPhone. Depending on your need, you can turn off suggestions in search, look up, and even on the Lock screen. Even better, if you want to put restriction only on some individual apps, there is an option to do that as well. Let me demonstrate how it works.
How to Turn Off Siri Suggestions for Individual Apps on iPhone and iPad in iOS 12
Step #1. Launch Settings app on your iOS device → Now, tap on Siri & Search.
Step #2. Next, scroll down and tap on the specific app which information you don’t want to show in search or look up.
Step #3. Finally, turn off the switch next to Siri & Suggestions. Also, make sure to turn off the Switch next to Show App.
That’s it! Going forward, the info from this app won’t show up anywhere.
As of now, there is no option to delete or remove Siri Shortcuts suggestions. However, if you have decided to keep them away or just don’t find them useful, you can choose to entirely disable Siri Suggestions on your iOS device.
How to Turn Off Siri Suggestions for all Apps
Step #1. Open Settings app on your iOS device → Tap on Siri & Search.
Step #2. Under Siri Suggestions, you need to turn off the switches for:
- Suggestions in Search
- Suggestions in Look Up
- Suggestions on Lock Screen
That’s pretty much it!
You have restricted the virtual assistant from offering any inputs. Should you happen to change your mind later, all you need to do is go back to the same setting and turn on the toggles.
