I have found redesigned Control Center in iOS 11 more functional and intuitive than ever before. However, it’s not without blemish. For instance, it has slightly hidden audio outputs section. Hence, switching AirPlay device in iOS 11 might not be straightforward for everyone.
There are three ways you can switch audio outputs on your iOS 11 device. Once you have got the hang of them, you will no longer find it inconvenient. Let’s see how it works!

Step #1. When you are on the Lock screen, tap on the AirPlay icon that’s next to the playback title in the music widget.
Step #2. Now, auto outputs screen will come up. Tap on the device you want to switch over to.
How to Switch Audio Output from Control Center in iOS 11
There are a couple of quick ways through which you can switch audio output on your iOS Device:
Step #1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access Control Center.
Step #2. Check out the tiny wave icon in music widget.
- It turns blue and animate when the output is connected to external source.
- It is grayed out when the audio is playing locally or if there’s no playback.
You need to tap on this wave icon.
Step #3. Now, outputs screen will open. Just tap on the device you want to switch.
Step #1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Then, you need to touch and hold on the music widget.
Step #2. Now, the music widget will expand and display several options including AirPlay icon next to the music title. Tap on it.
Step #3. Next, you will see the list of all the available audio outputs. Tap on the one you wish to switch to.
