Step #1. First off, you need to turn on your device. Now, you will see “Hello” in various languages. Follow the on-screen instructions to start setting your device.

Note: You have the option to enable VoiceOver or Zoom from the Hello screen if you are blind or have low vision.

Step #2. Next, you have to select your language. Then, choose your country or region.

If your old iPhone is running iOS 11, you can automatically set up your new device with Quick Start. To do so, follow this guide.

If you don’t have any device running the latest iOS version, tap on Set Up Manually to continue.

Step #3. Now, you have to connect your device to a Wi-Fi network, cellular network, or iTunes to activate and continue setting up your device.

Just select the Wi-Fi network you wish to use or choose a different option.

Now, insert SIM card in your device.

Step #4. Next, you have the option to turn on Location Services to let apps like Find My Friends, Maps to access your location.

Step #5. Next, you get the option to set up Face ID. With this feature, you will be able to unlock your device and authenticate purchases, sign in to apps.

You will also have to set a six-digit passcode to offer an additional safeguard to your data.

If you want the four-digit passcode, tap Passcode Options.

Step #6. In case you have iCloud or iTunes backup, or an Android device, you will be able to restore or transfer your data from your old device to your new device. If you are moving from Android to iOS, head over to this post to transfer your content easily.

Tap on Set Up as New iPhone if you don’t have another device or backup.

Step #7. Next up, you have to sign in with your Apple ID and set up iCloud Drive.

Then, you need to enter your Apple ID and password.

Now, you will be able to recover your Apple ID or password, create a new Apple ID, or set it up later.

Then, you have to accept the iOS Terms and Conditions.

If you have signed in with your Apple ID, you can set up iCloud Drive, Apple Pay, and iCloud Keychain.

Step #8. You can now set up Siri. You will have to speak some phrases so that Siri can get to know your voice.

Step #9. Up next, you can choose settings for app analytics and True Tone.

You can choose to share information with app developers if you want.

Step #10. Tap Get Started to finish the process and start using your device.
