How to Restrict Cellular Data with Restrictions on iPhone/iPad in iOS 10

If you don’t want anyone to play around with the Cellular Data of your iPhone running iOS 10, you can restrict it. Read on to find out.

To ensure you have the needed control over your favorite apps and features, Apple has introduced “Restrictions.” It’s the perfect “Parental Controls” you would want to prevent the unauthorized access.

Whether you wish to completely shield Camera or Photos app or put a no-entry on features like Location Services or Background App Refresh etc., Restrictions can perfectly serve your purpose.

How to Restrict Cellular Data with Restrictions on iPhone

There is also an option to restrict Cellular Data using Parental Controls. Just in case, you don’t want anyone to access the Mobile Data of your iPhone, you can easily prevent the unauthorized access.

How to Restrict Mobile Data Use with Restrictions in iOS 10 on iPhone/iPad

Step #1. Launch Settings app on your iOS device → Tap on General.

Step #2. Tap on Restrictions → enter your Restrictions passcode.

Step #3. Scroll down and tap on Mobile/Cellular Data under Allow Changes.

Step #4. On the next screen, you have two options—

  • Allow Changes
  • Don’t Allow Changes

You need to select Don’t Allow Changes.

Right under Allow Changes section, there are three other options such as Accounts, Background App Refresh and Volume Limit. You can restrict changes to these features as well.
