How to Remove watchOS 5 Beta to Install Official Release

As the stable version of the watchOS is out, updating from watchOS 5 beta to the public release would be the way to go for most folks. If you have also set your sight on the official version of the operating system, follow along to delete the watchOS beta profile to clear the road for the smooth installation!

Even though I’ve relished watchOS 5 beta testing, I’m now going to switch to the stable version for having enhanced performance. I guess I’m not alone to be thinking that way. Many of you, who had been testing the pre-release operating system, would be willing to delete the watchOS 5 beta and install the official release as well.

So, how do you update from the watchOS beta to the official version? Well, you need to wipe out the beta profiles both from your iPhone and Apple Watch. It’s done to ensure there is no problem during the installation. And once the cleanup is over, it’s business as usual. You got it, didn’t you?

Side Note: During testing, I got the option to update to the watchOS 5 public release without having to delete the beta profile. However, I suggested eliminating the profiles as it’s also recommended by Apple. I think it’s done to ensure you don’t face any issues while upgrading to the latest watchOS.

That’s all there is to it!

Wrapping up:

Apple lets you switch from iOS 12 beta the official version without needing to delete the beta profile. So, you can put your hands on the latest OS with ease. As for watchOS 5, I think it’s designed to run smoothly and a lot faster on the smartwatch. Among several new add-ons, the things that have really impressed me are the Walkie-Talkie and 7-day competition.
