Whenever you connect your iPhone or iPad with Windows or Mac and sync with iTunes, you notice large amount of space mentioned as “other” on the usage space graph. Over the time, that “Other” data is getting filled with tons of unknown stuffs and there is no way to get rid of this data from iTunes itself.

How To Remove Other Data on iPhone and iPad With Cydia Tweaks

Wonder what this Other on iTunes? There are only 8 standard data categories listed under Data Bar of iTunes. They are App, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, Books, Photos and Information. Everything else that can't fit into these categories is named as “other” by iTunes. It is filled with data like, call history, mail cache and attachments, iTunes backup, game data, Safari’s cookies, history and reading list etc.

There are certain ways to get rid of this Other data. However, if your iOS device is jailbroken, then there number of Cydia tweaks that make cleaning up a bit easy. There are two tweaks – iCleaner Pro and CacheCleaner that help you in freeing up space on your iPhone or iPad.

How To Clear Other Data With iCleaner Pro

iCleaner Pro, the Cydia tweak for iOS 8, cleans up all the unnecessary documents and data that pile up over the course of time. This jailbreak tweak in its new avatar works a lot faster than it had been doing before.

When you install the tweak, it will appear on the home screen of your iPhone with a brush symbol. It is free and available to download from http://exile90software.com/cydia/beta.

Once you install iCleaner Pro, launch it from SpringBoard. This tweak comes with default settings to delete Message Attachments, Safari, Applications and Cydia cleanup. Along with that it also cleans Log files, Cache and Temporary files. However, you can configure settings of this tweak as per your need. You can also exclude certain Apps from the cleaning process.

How To Clear Documents and Data With CacheCleaner

It's very difficult to clear the Document and Data of third party apps like Facebook, WhatsApp etc. The only way you can do it is just by deleting them. But, how many times will you delete an app and reinstall it? There is a Cydia tweak that allows you to remove Document and Data of third party apps easily.

Just like, iCleaner Pro, CacheCleaner helps you in getting rid of irrelevant stuffs that get accumulated over time. However, it will let you feel more like a native iOS process while deleting Document and Data of the Apps.

You can download this tweak from repo http://rpetri.ch/repo . There are no configurable options in Settings. When you install it, the tweak adds two options under the Manage storage section of the Settings app.

Reset App: It lets you restore your app as new removing the entire caches in the process.

Clear App's Cache: When you tap on it, the tweak allows you to get rid of all the unnecessary things.

The Cydia tweak is free. You can download it after adding this below given repo in Cydia. http://rpetri.ch/repo
