I believe “Sonos One” can give more popular Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple's soon to be launched HomePod a run for their own money. The smart speaker currently supports Alexa and is soon going to work with Google Assistant as well. Alexa supports Spotify but lacks Apple Music skill. Hence, you can't start Apple Music directly on Sonos' speaker. But there is a way to overcome this huddle and play Apple Music and Spotify songs and playlists on Sonos One.

You can stream your favorite Apple Music songs on Sonos One using Sonos app for iOS. It allows you to queue up songs or playlists from both Spotify and Apple Music in the app and play it on the speaker. What's more, this method works with any Sonos-supported audio service; irrespective of whether it comes with Alexa skill or not.

Step #3. Next, you need to choose the song or playlist you want to play.

Step #4. Next up, tap on Play.

Note: If you want to play a playlist or an album, tap on Play All.

Step #5. Now, you have to tap the mini-player located at the bottom of the screen.

Then, you need to select Sonos One from the speaker list, if you haven't selected it as yet.

After you have started a song, you can use Alexa on your Sonos One to control your music.

As the intelligent personal assistant supports multiple control-type commands like Alexa, quieter/louder, Alexa, stop/pause/play, Alexa, next song, Alexa, previous song, you will be able to get on top of your music time with aplomb.

That's it!

Enjoy music to the fullest!

When I came to know that “Sonos” has launched its smart speaker “Sonos One,” I just couldn't hide my happiness. Currently, it may lack the teeth to go head-to-head against its more illustrious rivals but it will soon emerge as a major competitor for them. What's your take on it?
