How to Pair Apple Watch with iPhone Xs, Xs Max or XR
Sticky Note: Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS+Cellular) or later supports iPhone 6 or later. And, Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) or earlier works with iPhone 5s or later. Be sure to turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi/Cellular on your iPhone before getting started.
Step #1. First off, you need to turn on your new Apple Watch, if you haven’t already. To do so, press and hold the side button. Release the button when the Apple logo appears on the screen.
Step #2. Now, you have to hold your new Apple Watch close to your iPhone.
You should see a message reading, “Use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch” on your smartphone. Tap on Continue to start the pairing process.
Note: Just in case you don’t see the message on your iPhone, open the Watch app and then hit the Start Pairing.
Step #3. Next, hold the Apple Watch over the animation and position the watch face in the viewfinder.
Step #4. Now, you will get a message confirming that your Apple Watch is paired.
Then after, you have two options.
- Set up the watch as new: Choose it if you are going to use an Apple Watch for the first time.
- Restore from a backup: Hit it to restore the watch from a backup.
Select any of the two methods as per your need.
Step #5. Next up, select your wrist preference and agree to the terms and conditions.
Go ahead and customize the settings based on your requirements. Along the way, you will have to create a passcode, set up important features like Activity, SOS and more. And yes, you will also be able to install the compatible apps.
In the end, let your data be synced perfectly. The time it takes completely depends on the size of the file. So, have patience and allow the process to be completed peacefully.
Once everything is done, your watch will tap on your wrist to confirm that you are ready to go!
