The latest update in WhatsApp now enables iPhone users to use WhatsApp on web. This feature provides much comfort and convenient in typing and reading messages. It also facilitates users to watch videos and listen to audios with ease.

However, there is no way to forward any received message to any contact or group by using WhatsApp web. At the most, a user can copy a text and send it to his contacts or groups.

But here, we want to discuss three different features you can use on your WhatsApp web: Archive chat, Mute and Exit group. It’s a very simple method to follow on your WhatsApp web.

How to Archive WhatsApp Group Chat on WhatsApp Web

Step #1. First, launch web.whatsapp.com on your Chrome or Firefox browser.

Step #2. Now enable WhatsApp Web with your iPhone.

If your iPhone is Jailbroken, you can also enable WhatsApp Web with a WhatsApp Web Enabler.

Step #3. Click on a group you want to archive the chats of.

Step #4. Right click on the group name (a pop-up menu will show three options: Archive chat, Mute and Exit group).

Step #5. Click on the first option and all the chats of that particular group will be archived.

(Unlike WhatsApp on your iPhone, you won’t be able to see your Archived chat. You need to type in a name of group in the search bar; when the group name appears, tap on the down arrow and Unarchive chat).

Please note that you can also click on the down arrow appears when you hover the mouse on group name. Choose the first option to Archive chat. Moreover, while you are on the same group, click on the vertical ellipsis on the right, next to the symbol of Attach. A menu will drop down with four options: Group info, Archive chat, Mute and Exit group.

Click on Archive chat and all your chats in the group will be archived. Similarly, you can Archive chats you have done with a particular contact of yours.

Step #1. Follow the first three steps as mentioned above.

Step #2. Right click on the group name or click on down arrow or click on the vertical ellipsis (a pop-up menu will show three options: Archive chat, Mute and Exit group).

A dialog box will appear with three options: 8 Hours, 1 Week and 1 Year.

Step #4. Select any one option and click OK.

You can now see an icon of crossed-out speaker on the name of the muted group. Later on, you can Cancel mute by following the above steps. Note that unlike your iPhone, WhatsApp Web doesn’t provide you with a feature to Mute a specific chat or Block a particular contact. If you want to mute a specific WhatsApp chats, use WhatsApp on your iPhone.

Step #1. Follow the first three steps as mentioned earlier.

Step #2. Right click on the group name or click on down arrow or click on the vertical ellipsis (a pop-up menu will show three options: Archive chat, Mute and Exit group).

Step #4. Click on EXIT.

Please note that once you Exit a group, you can’t rejoin from your WhatsApp account. You need to ask the group admin to add you again to that group.

Thus, you can manage your WhatsApp group/s from web.whatsapp.com. Please remember that your mobile should be constantly connected with the computer you are accessing WhatsApp on.
