How to Hide Recommended Instagram Posts in Feed on iPhone and Android

Instagram now recommends posts in your feed based on the posts liked by the accounts you follow. For instance, if your friends like any posts, they will appear in your feed. Don’t want that unsolicited stuff? Well, you can temporarily hide recommended Instagram posts in the feed on your iPhone and Android.

Previously, Instagram used to recommend posts in Explore tab. Such posts are represented by a label at the top; apparently marking them as recommended. They work very much like sponsored posts and appear in a row instead of just one.

Instagram has rolled out “Recommended for You” feature in the latest version of the app. Before following the below-mentioned steps, make sure have the latest version of the app installed on your device.

Step #1. Launch Instagram on your iOS device.

Step #2. Now, tap on home tab at the bottom left corner, if it’s not already selected.

Step #3. Next, find the recommended post, which you wish to hide. Then, tap on the tiny three dots at the top right corner of the post.

Step #4. Next up, tap on Hide in the menu.

That’s it! This post will now be hidden in your feed.

Wrap up:

The recommended posts show up at the end after you have viewed your feed. There is no option to completely disable this feature. What’s your take on it? Share it in the comments below.
