“Voice Memos” has been completely overhauled in iOS 12. From what I have experienced so far, it seems to be a step in the right direction. The app makes it a tad easier to edit your recording. Besides, you also get the option to duplicate your Voice Memos on your iOS 12 device.
Generally, I prefer to create a duplicate file before going for editing. That’s because if something goes wrong, I will have the original file to fall back on.
How to Duplicate Voice Memos on iPhone and iPad Running iOS 12
Step #1. First off, launch Voice Memos app on your iOS device.
Step #2. Now, open the recording that you want to create a duplicate.
Step #3. Next, tap on the three dots to the left of the audio.
Step #4. Next up, you need to select Duplicate option in the menu.
Now, a new file will be created. Up next, you can go ahead and edit it to your best liking. (Check out the same three dots. Tap on it and select Edit Recording. Then, fine-tune it using the built-in tools.)
That’s pretty much it!
There are a couple of other notable features that are worth talking about. First, you can change the audio quality of your recording. If you want to manage the storage smartly, go with the compressed file format.
And the second, you can choose to automatically delete your voice memos. Depending on your need, you will be able to preset the days after which the recordings will be auto removed.
