Recently, you no longer enjoy listening to music on Spotify. Maybe, the music-streaming service no longer perfectly caters to your taste, or you feel more attracted towards the offerings that its alternatives like Apple Music and Google Music have come up with.
Whatever could be your personal reason, you can easily delete your Spotify account permanently. But before going for the kill, keep in mind a couple of things. First, your existing user name will no longer be used with Spotify.
And the second, you won’t be able to recover your music, playlists, and followers. Anyway, let’s run through the quick steps to put an end to the account!
How to Close your Spotify Account
Sticky note: Spotify doesn’t offer any option to close out the account from its iPhone, iPad or Android app. To get it done, you will have to go to the web. If you don’t want to go for this radical way, check out this hands-on guide to cancel the Spotify premium subscription.
Step #1. Open any web browser on your computer and head over to
Spotify Contact Support Page.
Step #2. Now, you need to sign into your account.
Step #3. Under Hello. How can we help you? section, click on Account.
Step #4. Next, click on “I want to close my account permanently.”
Step #5. Next up, click on Close account.
Step #6. Finally, click on Close Account to confirm.
That’s pretty much it! You’ve successfully eliminated your Spotify premium (or free) account.
In spite of the strong competition from Apple Music, Spotify remains by far the most popular music-streaming app across the platforms. What makes this app so impressive is the pretty intuitive user-interface. Besides, it offers more personalized suggestions.
But then again, it can’t live up to the demand of everyone. And this is where a variety of options come in handy.
