With iOS 12, you can make Siri shortcuts for the frequently used actions on your iPhone or iPad and get them done a bit more quickly. Moreover, they can bring about a drastic change in the way you get your tasks done. Jump over to get started!

From what I can see, the integration of “Shortcuts” is going to make Siri more efficient in getting your tasks done a lot faster. By creating commonly-used Siri Shortcuts in iOS 12, you can carry out several tasks instantly. And you need to put your hands on this well thought out feature to believe how handy it can really be.

So, how does “Shortcuts” work? It lets you connect frequently used action to a phrase that you can activate with the help of the personal assistant and ask it to get it done for you. Let me demonstrate how it functions!

Step #2. Next, you should see some suggestions for actions you recently performed.

If you want to create shortcuts for these actions, tap on the “+” button to the next of the suggestion. Then, you need to record the personalized phrase. To do so, tap on the record button and say the phrase. You need to re-record it. Once you are done, tap on Done at the top right to confirm.

What about creating phrases using Shortcuts App?

You can also create phrases using the standalone Shortcuts app. But it’s not yet available in the iOS 12. Once it comes into action, we will keep you posted.

Apart from letting you create shortcuts, the app will let you download pre-defined shortcuts as well. Just like you, I’m also willing to put my hands-on it sooner than later. Hopefully, Apple adds it to iOS 12 soon.

Over to you

Siri Shortcuts is yet to get completely refined. However, I have found it well conceived and believe that once the official version of iOS 12 is out, it will be at its peak.

How much impressed are you with Siri and what are the new add-ons you would like to see in it? Having your thoughts in the comments would be great.
