The all new Photos app for Mac is almost identical to iOS 8’s Photos app. You can see your photos or videos categorised as Years, Collections and Moments. With plenty of advanced editing tools and highly appreciable features to let you manage your photos like never before, the Photos app for Mac is every user’s wish.

The Photos app on Mac lets you to create a new library in order to help you manage your photos comfortably. There are some particular photos which you can keep separately to access them instantly. Many a time selecting a specific photo from album becomes a bit tedious task. That’s why, it’s better to have a separate library of photos. If you want to create a new photo library on your Mac running OS X 10.10.3, here is how you can do it.

Step #1. Close the Photos app, if it‘s opened.

Step #2. Hold the Option () key and click on the Photos app in the dock.

Step #3. Next up, click on Create New.


Step #4. Now, you will need to give a name to your new photo library in the Save As field. If you want to change the location of this library, you can do so easily by adjusting the Where field.

Step #5. After giving your photo library a name and placing it at your desired location, click onOK.

If your library isn’t listed, you can click on Other Library in order to find the library which is located somewhere else.
