To help you instantly access the websites you visit, Safari keeps a record of the history. I find it enormously helpful, as you don’t have to enter a site name every time you want to visit it. But if you don’t clear Safari history and website data on your iPhone or iPad from time to time, it might clutter the web browser.

Luckily, deleting the Safari history is pretty upfront. Hence, you won’t have to spare much time to get rid of the unwanted cache. Wish to find out how the cleanup process works? Let me walk you through the steps!

  1. Unfortunately the clear history is still not available on my iPad mini 2nd gen, my iPhone 6 or my iPhone 5s as described above. All devices are upgraded to IOS 8.4. The only way to clear the history is to individually remove each entry, which is very tedious! On my iPad Air 1st gen I can clear the history as you describe. Hopefully there’s a way I’m not aware of or Apple will fix it!

  2. I just updated my iPhone and itouch too this new iOS version 0.9 software and I can not remove any history it’s a pain in the ass I don’t know how I can remove any history….. Please email me solving this problem to the … Please help

    Schagerernick@yahoo.com email me possibly

  3. The technique above doesn’t remove ALL website data in OS9 or OS9.0.2.
History items remain whether you try it all at once or individually.

    • No, Physically I am not able to slide over the Box with whatever history item is in it. In other wors I can’t Slide the boxes to reveal the Delete Button/ Box

  4. “Step #3. You’ll see the list of History. Now, you have primarily two options:
If you want to delete individual history, swipe left from right on the name of the history which you want to remove and then tap on Delete and in the end tap on Done to confirm.” DOES NOT WORK ON IOS 9!!!!!! This would also be helpful if those options are there on step #2 For Private mod Because i cant do that either.

  5. The new iOS 9 update is extremely frustrating for me since I used to be able to clear my history daily and still stay logged into websites. Now you don’t have an option to just clear history & I have to log back into favorite websites every time after clearing. Bad move for Apple, updates should be an improvement for users.
