Following several reports that a small percentage of iPhone 8 gets frozen repeatedly or restarts randomly, Apple has announced iPhone 8 logic board replacement program. So, if you are faced with them, you should immediately check if your iPhone 8 has the faulty logic board.

One thing worth noting is that only iPhone 8 (and not the iPhone 8 Plus) has been affected by the logic board issue. Besides, the iPhone 8 units that were sold in India, China, Japan, US, Australia and New Zealand between 2017 and the March 2018 are said to have been plagued by the problem.

How to Find Out If Your iPhone 8 Has Faulty Logic Board

Apple has offered an easy tool to let you find if your iPhone 8 is facing logic board issue and can be part of the repair program.

Step #1. Launch Settings app on your iPhone 8 and tap on General.

Step #2. Now, tap on About.

Step #3. Next, scroll down to the Serial Number and copy it.

Step #4. Next up, go to Apple’s iPhone 8 checker tool. And then paste the serial number and hit the Submit button.

In case your device has a logic board issue, the tool will confirm that. And if this is the case, you need to give your device for the repair.

To do so, directly go to Apple Store, or Authorized Apple Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support for help. Once you have submitted your problem, you will receive a prepaid shipping box in which you need to send your iPhone for repair.
