One of the things that annoy me no end is the random calls from telemarketers or scammers. With iOS 10 allowing developers the extensions for the stock Phone app, it has become quite easy to block spam calls. Fortunately, I will no longer be disturbed by the unsolicited calls.
The third-party apps which are developed to block spam calls keep a huge database of phone numbers which have been found to be spam. As a result, whenever any incoming calls arrive on your iPhone, the app first checks it. If the phone number is spam, it blocks the phone calls right away.
How to Block Spam Phone Calls in iOS 10 on iPhone/iPad
There are currently three best third-party apps designed to block spam calls.
Callblock: This app claims to have the world’s biggest directory of telemarketers from more than hundred countries. It is skilled at blocking spam calls. You can download it at $3.99.
Hiya: It has integrated spam identification feature which helps it identify the calls which you wish to take and block the ones you want to avoid from telemarketers, robocallers, scammers etc. Besides, it comes with native dialer integration. It’s free and available from App Store.
In this test, I’m going to download Hiya and give it a try on my iPhone.
- Simply head over to the App Store and download Hiya on your iOS device. Then, launch the app; allow it the access to your contacts.
- Next, you have to select your country and enter phone number. Once you are done, tap on Next.
- The app will send you code on your iPhone which you have to enter. Tap on Continue. It will verify your code.
- Now, open settings preference of this app, and configure it as desired.
