How to Add Nicknames to iPhone Contacts

It’s not always easy to remember a contact just by its name especially when you have hundreds of contacts on your iPhone. Moreover, it becomes rather confusing when there are same names with different contacts. Of course, you can differentiate them by adding surnames but that’s not enough. Is there any other way to solve this little puzzle?

Adding a preferred nickname to a contact on iPhone makes it pretty easy to recognize a particular contact out of many. People like to give nicknames to their friends to show their affection. Step #1. Launch Contacts app.

Tap on Contacts App in iPhone
Step #2. Tap on the contact which you want to add a nickname.

Step #3. Tap on Edit from the top right corner.

Step #4. Scroll down and tap on add field.

Step #5. A menu list will open wherein you will see many other options to add to a contact such as, Prefix, Middle or Suffix. Tap on Nickname.

Step #6. You will see the blank space wherein “Nickname” is written under the contacts name. Write the preferred nickname and then tap on Done from the top right corner.
