Haptic Feedback Not working on iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus? Tips to Fix the Issue

If haptic feedback has suddenly stopped working on your iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, try out these tricks to bring back the vibratory feedback.

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has a neat feature called “System Haptics.” Once enabled, it provides vibratory feedback when you toggle on/off any switch not only in the stock apps like Safari, Settings but also in third-party apps.

The real beauty about “System Haptics” is that it offers you the feedback about your action. Unfortunately, haptic feedback stopped working on my iPhone a few days back. Some of my friends reported to has encountered this issue as well. Luckily, some tried and tested tricks came to our rescue and resolved the problem. Let’s check out!

How to Fix Haptic Feedback Not Working on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

Solution #1: Turn off/on System Haptics, Reboot Your iPhone

Step #1. Launch Settings on your iPhone → Tap on Sounds & Haptics.

Step #2. Scroll down and toggle off the switch next to System Haptics.

Step #3. Now, press and hold the sleep/wake button. While still holding it, press and hold the volume down button for about ten seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

Step #4. Once your iPhone has restarted, turn on the System Haptics switch.

Step #5. Now, try to toggle on/off any switch like Keyboard Clicks or Lock Sound. The haptic feedback should work as usual.

Solution #2: Reset All Settings

If the first solution hasn’t fixed the issue, then you need to reset your iPhone to factory settings. Don’t worry; it won’t delete any data or media.

Step #1. Open Settings app on your iPhone → Tap on General.

Step #2. Scroll down and tap on Reset → Tap on Reset All Settings.

If you have enabled Restrictions, you need to enter its passcode.

Step #3. Tap on Reset All Settings again.

Solution #3: Update iOS on Your iPhone

Make sure to update your iPhone to the latest iOS 10 version. Head over to Settings → General.

Tap on Software Update and check out if there is any update waiting for you.

Solution #4: Restore Your iPhone As New

If the haptic feedback is still not working, restore your iPhone as new using iTunes. Make sure to backup your device before restoring it.

Step #1. Open Settings app → Tap on iCloud.

Step #2. Tap on Find My iPhone.

Step #2. Turn off the switch next to Find My iPhone.

Step #3. Connect your smartphone to Mac or computer → Launch iTunes → Select your iPhone.

Step #4. Click on Restore iPhone and confirm it.

That’s it! Haptic feedback should start working now as usual.
