Initially, I thought the issue may be specific to my iPhone only. However, once I discussed the issue with my friends, I came to know that I was not alone to have faced the battery draining issue.

#1. Disable Background App Refresh

Step #1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone → Tap on General.

Do you need the In-app Sound? I find it completely worthless.

Step #1. Open Facebook and tap on More from the bottom left corner.

Step #2. Scroll down and tap on Settings.

It’s better to completely disable Facebook notifications if you want to save battery on your device. If you still want the alerts from this app, make sure to turn off Sounds.

You can add the mobile site to your Home screen in order to avoid using the official app. The best thing about it is that it will neither eat battery nor will it take away a lot of space.
