Managing any audio library is a tough job. It’s easy to do if all the songs you download are from the iTunes store and you manage everything within iTunes but that’s just too ideal a thing to happen. I’ve got plenty of songs downloaded/purchased from a variety of sources but when it’s time to get them all onto iTunes libraries, things can get really messy.
Not that most of us care but those that do have a really bad time. That’s because organizing music sourced from different sources has always been problematic not just in iTunes but in almost every software.
If you’re looking to organize music in iTunes, clean it up to remove duplicates and get the music tags right (so you can sort and search music in your library better), you’ll definitely need to put a lot of effort (if you’re doing stuff manually).
Clean up Your iTunes Library Easily with Leawo Tunes Cleaner
I think that’s where softwares like the Leawo Tunes Cleaner for Mac come in handy. And I mean really handy.
Leawo Tunes Cleaner is a simple and focused software. The basic purpose is to help you clean up your iTunes library. If you’ve been using iTunes for long without cleaning it up occasionally, you’re most likely going to have a ton of unnecessary cache that includes deleted/moved songs that won’t play, songs without proper meta tags and a whole bunch of other things that just don’t make for a comfortable iTunes library handling.
Here’s a small list of things that Leawo Tunes Cleaner for Mac does:
Remove Duplicates: Clearly, this is one of the most annoying things. No one purposefully has duplicates in their iTunes library but it still happens if you are prone to downloading music a lot. Removing duplicates using software is fast and prevents the tedious manual removal.
Tags: Manual, Auto: Most music players these days are equipped to update the meta tags of the music tracks – or that’s what I’d like to say but no. That ain’t the case often. This software though can fetch music data from the internet and fix the meta tags for music tracks without any of it. You can also add music meta data easily.
Fixes Meta data for All Music in one-click: There’s also this feature where you can fix meta data (or add) for all files at once. I’ve seen this feature in even Linux-based open-source music software so I’m not going to sing praises about it. But suffice it to say that this is a very useful feature. Imagine having a whole bunch of songs from an album? One-click! And fixed!
Fast: Clearly, this is something we all need. Most music softwares are dead-slow and some of these hang. I’m not a fan of uber-cool software as much as I am of uber-fast software and Leawo Tunes Cleaner fits the latter category.
iTunes Library Health: If you fancy numbers (or if you are a gamer), this is an indication that lets you now how good your iTunes library is. Try hitting 100.
Save Project: Of all features, this is a star. You can save projects so that you can get to work even after a big break. This is interesting (and I don’t really know how they do this) but if you want to take a break by turning off the computer while you’re cleaning up your library, you can do it. Saved projects can be booted up from where you left making things much easier.
Obviously, the software is only for Mac users running 10.6+ (supports 10.8).
