First off, this is going to be a continuously updated post and will be edited whenever we find a new Velox addon that’s worth getting all the attention here.

Velox, for the uninitiated, is a wonderful tweak that adds some spectacular power to the icons on the springboard. It adds features to the app icons so when you swipe on an icon, cards open up instead of the app opening (kind of like how folders open up). The cards show  stuff depending on the app. For instance, if it’s Safari, Velox will make sure you can actually browse websites directly without having to open the entire app.

Velox is a huge step forward in an Ajax-like environment for iOS springboard.

But what adds power to Velox is addons. Addons for Velox make the tweak powerful and feature-packed.

Best Velox Addons

Here’s a collection of great addons for Velox:

AppLook for Velox

Applook Velox Addon

I cringe when it’s time to open the App Store and search for an app. It’s pathetically slow many times. Apparently, Apple has changed gears and has gone for a HTML5-based App Store which is one of the cited reasons for the slow App Store. Anyway, how about a shortcut? How about swiping on the App Store, which opens up a card so you can search directly. Results are also shown right beneath. This is fast.

Torch for Velox

Torch for Velox

Remember TorchNC? Torch for Velox is pretty much the same thing but a little powerful. It integrates with some ten odd torch apps from the App Store. Once you’ve got the app (or if you have it already), all you do is swipe on the app and an easy ‘Tap to Start Torch’ toggle shows up. Tap this to turn on/off the torch.

Addial for Velox

Addial for Velox

Addial is a cool Velox addon. The addon impacts the Contacts app. It puts three options to the Contacts app (when you swipe it). You can add a contact, call a contact or dial a number directly. Considering that we’re quite used to the Phone app every time we’re going to call someone, this might take sometime getting used to. I guess the addon could’ve been attached to the Phone app, instead.
