I like docking stations but Bluetooth Speakers are better. That’s because I can use my iPhone while still being able to stream music out of the speakers – and I don’t have to be in the vicinity either.
When we talk about iPhone 5/5s Bluetooth speakers, we’re not specifically dealing with Bluetooth speakers designed for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s but rather a set of popular and affordable Bluetooth speakers that work with almost all smartphones. And needless to say, they work best with iPhone.
There are quite a lot of iPhone Bluetooth speakers on the market. There are cheap ones you’ll find on eBay and Amazon to those ultra-expensive Bose Bluetooth speakers and depending on what type of an experience you need, you’ll choose accordingly.
But what we have here is really the most decent of the lot: the ones that people trust, people buy and find really good.
Best Bluetooth Speakers for iPhone 5/5s and iPhone 4(S):
1. JBL Flip Wireless Bluetooth Speaker
Of all the under-$100 Bluetooth speakers we’ve heard, JBL tops the chart. If you’re really serious about using a Bluetooth speaker long-term, this should be right on top of your list. JBL needs no introduction when it comes to producing high-end speakers. While the Flip might not be a total-budget Bluetooth speaker, I think it’s one of the best ones in the mid-range. The speaker comes with a 5-hour backup. Note that the speaker is very minimal and doesn’t have USB ports in case you were looking for them.
Price: $99.00 | $94.95 (On Amazon)
2. Creative D100 Wireless
Speaking of Bluetooth speakers, you might be someone with an eye for design too. While the JBL Flip comes with a neat, curvy and streamlined design, the Creative D100 takes design more seriously. Also, this one takes the cake for offering versatile power options: connect to the power source when indoors or use up AA batteries (with a 25-hr backup advertised) when you’re out partying. Creative D 100 also has a brother in D 80 but I think the D 100 holds better.
Price Range: $44.90 (Amazon), $79.99 (Retail)
3. HomeSpot Bluetooth Audio Receiver
HomeSpot Bluetooth Audio Receiver is an under-dog that shoots up to popularity amidst other brand products. Selling for $30 on Amazon and elsewhere, you’d expect this to be an average device but I’ve heard only the best things about this Bluetooth speaker. But having said that, this is not the speaker that pushes out excellent bass. For the average usage, HomeSpot’s Bluetooth Audio Receiver is an amazing gadget with a decent price-tag. It also has NFC but that won’t be useful for iPhone users.

4. Logitech UE Mobile Boombox (Bluetooth)
Logitech has a few Bluetooth speakers in its arsenal but most of them (the UE series) are pretty costly. The Mobile Boombox falls under the $100 Bluetooth speakers and reviews from across the web have tagged it as one of the best $100 BT speaker ever. With a portable design and tech spec, the UE Mobile Boombox has some solid output up its sleeve.
5. HMDX Audio JAM Classic Bluetooth Speaker
At first glance, the HMDX will definitely look like some cheap-plastic Bluetooth speaker shipped in millions from the Far East but apparently, you get to know that it’s nothing of the sort. The first warning though is that when you start the speaker and get it connected to a Bluetooth device: it’s an alarming sound. Be forewarned of this. But once you cross this point and start playing music through the speakers, it’s one of the most pleasant experiences ever. May be there are flaws in the hardware and that startling tone when it powers up but otherwise, the speaker is pretty good.
