Fitness is on everyone’s minds. Summer’s here and every effort that you put in has to count because the sun’s going to ooze every little ounce of energy out of you. What better way to do that than to have apps tracking your every workout session and helping you pick the right diet?
Fitness is all about self-discipline and of course a lot of motivation. The iPhone is one of the best devices when it comes to fitness apps that will help you keep everything under one roof. By everything, I mean all the miles you’ve run, all the calories you’ve burnt, all the workout sessions you’ve had and all the historical cardio data.
Round-up of Best iPhone Fitness Apps:
This is an app that you can’t miss. RunKeeper is one of the best apps when it comes to tracking your outdoor miles. RunKeeper has grown more than what it started off as: a run tracking app. You can set goals, track how much of it you’ve completed and of course, share it all for some motivation.
#2. Epicurious – healthy food
Epicurious is one of my favorite apps when it comes to looking for healthy food options. The app is quite old as it is but it gets updated quite frequently. And since it connects to the main database at Epicurious.com, you’ve got some really huge repository of recipes. Healthy ones based on your carb, protein and fiber diet. Best of all, it’s free.
#3. Instant Heart Rate
Heart Rate monitors are pretty common but if you’ve used those free heart rate checkers on the iPhone, you know that sometimes, it just doesn’t work good. Instant Heart Rate isn’t free but it sure does the job perfectly. What’s the most important thing is that it keeps a track of your history which helps a lot if you’re going in for a checkup. Anyway, for fitness enthusiasts, this is a must-have app. It costs you $1.99.

#4. Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker
If you’re a user on MyFitnessPal, you know that it combines fitness with social features. The whole website is more like a Facebook for fitness people and the app that comes along is also similar. The app takes a little time to get used to but if you’re using it regularly and thoroughly, you’re going to reap a lot of benefits. It tracks calories through the food you eat and the exercise you do. It’s a perfect assistant if you’re looking for a fitness trainer. The app is free.

Can’t get a personal trainer? Get this app. It’s a sophisticated and amazing app which pushes you to set goals and work towards them like a personal fitness trainer. There are about 60+ workout routines you can download, which can then be planned using the workout planner and all your workouts are logged. It’s the perfect app for working out in a disciplined way. There’s a free version too. The Pro costs $4.99 and I’m given to understand that it’s totally worth it.

FitnessFast is a total solution. It combines several fitness things into one and by that, I mean you can track gym workouts, food, sleep cycles, weight and almost everything related to fitness. It’s about a wholesome health app with a core focus on workout weight tracking. And all that for $1.99. Users who’ve used the app say that it’s priced too low. I guess you should grab it before the developers listen to these users!
