The year’s coming to an end. After iOS 7, the jailbreak community hasn’t been active on iOS 6 tweaks but there have been some really amazing, interesting and, often, very useful tweaks coming up throughout the year.

Here’s a list of some of the most amazing and the best Cydia tweaks we saw in 2013. Spot a tweak we missed talking about? Don’t forget to comment about it!

Best Cydia Tweaks of 2013

MultiLS

MultiLS is a Cydia tweak – designed to be compatible only with IOS 6 – which adds a new screen to the lockscreen where all your notifications reside. Think of MultiLS as a privacy-enhancement so no one gets to see the notifications just by glancing at the lockscreen. The notifications are accessible by a swipe to a new “page” on the lockscreen.

Unlock7

Unlock7 is a tiny tweak to add an iOS 7-like unlock feature to all iOS 6 devices. On iOS 7, you can slide anywhere on the lockscreen to unlock the device. Older versions do not have this feature. Unlock7 makes sure you get this feature on your device running iOS 6.

Clota

We recently wrote about closing all tabs in Safari simultaneously (for iOS 7, of course) but since the issue is universal, someone had already solved it for iOS 6 users with Clota. This tweak makes use of gestures to close all tabs, or to close all other tabs while keeping the current one open. Very useful if you browse a lot on Safari.

PushPrivacy

The Messages app gives you a privacy setting where you can hide message previews on the lockscreen. But what if you want other apps to have a similar setting? iOS 6 doesn’t have one so there’s PushPrivacy which hides previews from any app that pushes lockscreen notifications.

Anemo

Anemo is the most beautiful quick-reply tweaks we’ve seen this year. The user-experience, the interface and the overall design make Anemo worth the hefty price-tag it comes with. Also, it’s a solid tweak that doesn’t go berserk just when you want it to work correctly.

Reminisce

Reminisce is an awesome tweak that brings the quick-launch-from-recent-apps thing to iOS ecosystem. It’s one-of-a-kind tweak which helps you open recently-accessed apps quickly. Right from the homescreen. The implementation is kickass.

VideoPane

Who said iPhones couldn’t handle multi-tasking? When Samsung showed its video-pane feature, jailbreak devs were quick to bring the functionality to iPhone too. That’s what VideoPane is all about: you can view videos in a smaller screen, move it around, access other apps, send the video over AirPlay, etc. with the tweak.

PanoMod

For users of iPhone 4 and 3GS who were left out when the panorama feature was introduced, PanoMod makes sure you folks are included in the party too. PanoMod enables panorama photo capture in older iPhone models running iOS 6.

InstaLauncher

This one is for fans of launchers. InstaLauncher is a hefty package that puts gesture-based launcher right on your homescreen. It’s pretty versatile, allowing you to access quite a lot of your favorite apps quickly. And quite customizable too.

NCSearch

NCSearch adds “search the web” capability to the notification center. It’s pretty nifty for users who rely on Google (or Bing or Wikipedia) very occasionally. Instead of opening Safari/Chrome, you can just swipe down the notification center and type to search.

VineDownloader

Who hasn’t wanted to download that Vine video on their iPhones? VineDownloader will let you do just that without any hassle. It’s a simple, no-nonsense package that does what it promises.

SmartSearch

What happens when Spotlight search suddenly turns into a smart person who can answer basic questions just like Siri does? SmartSearch magically transforms Spotlight search into an intelligent machine where you can type “Who is the President?” and get the right answer. Experiment with it!

LockMusic

Music controls are already available on the lockscreen when you double-press the home button. But what if you could just control the music via gestures on the lockscreen? Swipes control the song, the volume and double-tap to play/pause – how does it sound? Cool? Try LockMusic then.

TaskMaster

TaskMaster is the closest thing that comes to iOS 7’s Control Center. In fact, it looks like Apple lifted the Control Center idea right from this tweak but it’s not true. The tweak was released just a month before Apple released iOS7. Nevertheless, excellent tweak.

BannerSwipe

BannerSwipe is a terrifically useful tweak that I use everyday (on an iPhone 4 that’s still on iOS 6). It lets you swipe away those notification banners which are often distractions when you are playing a game or reading something. A simple swipe pushes the notifications away.
