Animer is a Cydia tweak that makes things a little more interesting on your iPhone. You’re probably sick of the notification banners and alerts by now (those banners debuted in iOS 5, remember?) and if you want to get some kicks out of tweaking these, Animer would be your choice.
This tweak comes as a relief to those who want to change the way the notification banners and alerts appear. You can’t change the content of the alerts or do intensive stuff like that but you can definitely change the way they appear on your screen. Fades, zooms, moving in from right or left or bottom of the screen: these are some of the things Animer can do for you.
Here’s a short video showing how Animer works:
Animer, as you probably saw in the video, can change three things:
- The alerts
- The banners
- The task switcher
The features are almost minimal: you can fade things in, you can zoom in or out and you can make things flow into the UI from the top, bottom, right and left. The features are pretty straightforward and they’re accessible from Settings -> Animer once you’ve installed the tweak in Cydia.
Animer is available on Cydia for $0.99.
As stated, you can tweak all the settings from Settings and the changes go into effect immediately. No repsring business.
By the way, if you want to change the notification banner’s colors, there’s FlagPaint (Lite version available). The tweak doesn’t do much but it paints the banners to the theme color of the app that sends the notification. Like iTunes pink, Messages green, Whatsapp even greener, Facebook blue etc. It’s kind of fun.
