Hey MacBook fans, your wait for the new look and feel 16-inch MacBook Pro has just got a wee bit longer by a month. Our recent news had carried the information about the release in September, which is atypical of Apple that usually releases notebooks in October.
We now understand from Taiwan’s United Daily News (UDN) supply chain report that Apple will go for October release only for its MacBook Pro. Apple plants at Quanta and Hon Hai are gearing up for the slated launch to encash on the traditional peak season.
Apple to Release 16-Inch MacBook Pro in October 2019
We were sure to see a change in the launch month this time but again, as they say, predictions can come off and for now its October 2019 for 16-inch MacBook Pro. Cupertino giant Apple is pretty sacrosanct about its new product releases – a trend which says iPhones get released in September.
MacBook Pro launched in 2015 has undergone functional changes since 2016 when 13 and 15-inch models were refreshed. Latest updation for these models were observed in May this year with 13-inch MacBook Pro getting refreshed in the first few days of this month. MacBook Air too saw changes this month with TrueTone display and up-dated keyboard parts which enhanced its performance.
Next, October is ideal for the launch of the new Apple MacBooks and iMacs. Hence, the launch window can be expected between iMac and Mac Pro Apple Notebook models in October this year for the 16-inch MacBook Pro.
The report confirms the powerful hardware specs of MacBook Pro will lead to a steep price rise when compared with current top-end models. On Apple’s Taiwanese website, the top-end model costs nearly 90,000 Yuan or about USD $13,500 as per today’s conversion rate. Price may break the Yuan 100000 barrier and may not surprise dedicated Apple MacBook Pro fans.
LCD Display & Scissor-Switch Keyboard Make New 16-inch MacBook Pro
Present MacBook Air has only a few additions like TrueTone Technology in display and Thunderbolt 3 ports among other insignificant features leaving processor as is. The Daily confirms that 16-inch MacBook Pro will have LCD display size – 3072×1920 while current models possess only 2880×1800 panel in the 15-inch MacBook Pro.
The display is a conversational item everywhere, and in our previous discussions also. It emerges that Apple MacBook Pro very clearly steers away from OLED ones to LCD refuting sourcing of such a display by Apple from Samsung in a very notable move. Further, brand new 16-inch MacBook Pro will don a 16-inch LCD screen instead of an OLED panel, supplied by LG Display as in the case of previous editions of MacBooks.
Expert view from top Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that Apple will change the MacBook Pro keyboard, from butterfly to a new scissor-switch keyboard. Kuo is known for his forecasts hitting the bullseye apart from others who keep an eagle watch over MacBook developments, as we too keep our tab on the subject.
If you are a MacBook Pro fan, go have a coffee or drink. Ponder over the news which will make you wait a bit longer till October. Your brand new 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro is still in the making, guys. Cool!
