Have you ever got a redeem code for iTunes? That’s a fantastic experience. A redeem code is like power: you can get music, paid apps and a few other stuff right from the iTunes store / App Store like a boss. And now that it’s the Holiday season, chances are you might get some iTunes gift codes / certificates from a variety of sources.
When that happens, you need to know how to redeem iTunes gift card in iOS 9 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
Here’s a short tutorial on it:
First decide what you’re going to use the iTunes gift code for: Music/Videos or App/Book etc.? If it’s media content, you open iTunes Store; if otherwise, open App Store.
Step #1. Launch App Store or iTunes Store.
Step #2. Tap Music from the navigation bar at the bottom of the iTunes Store app. (optionally, if you opened App Store, tap Featured.)
Step #3. Scroll down and tap on “Redeem.”
Step #4. Enter your Apple ID.
Step #5. A menu will popup, tap on Code to type your code.
Step #6 Tap on Redeem on top of the menu.
Step #7. You can now use the credited value to purchase music, shows, movies, apps, ebooks etc.
In Some countries you can redeem your gift card with the use of your built-in camera. Here is how to
Step #1: Launch iTunes or App Store.
Step #2: Scroll all the way down and tap on Redeem.
Step #3: Enter your Apple ID.
Step #4: Tap on Use Camera.
Step #6: Hold the back of the card(make sure to that the side is with black focus box) up to your camera.
Step #7: The camera will do the assigned duty perfectly by reading and then redeeming the code. You can see your iTunes Store balance on the screen.
A point to note:
If what you purchase costs more than value of the gift card, your credit card will be charged for the balance. Also note that you cannot use “free song credits” for album purchases. Only single tracks are allowed to be purchased with free song credits.
