Evasion team has addressed this issue specifically. If your Cydia (or any other app) screen becomes small like the one shown in the image below after Evasion Jailbreak, you’re most certainly affected with what’s called the small screen problem in Cydia.

Don’t worry though. There’s a way to fix this problem. You’ll just need to remove some tweaks that you installed (which may be incompatible, and thus causing the issue).

On the FAQ, the process has been described but let’s break it down to make it much more readable and usable. Here’s what you are going to do:

  • Reboot the iPhone in Safe Mode
  • Open Cydia and remove tweaksReboot iPhone to check if the Cydia small screen problem vanishes
  • If not, reboot in Safe Mode again and remove tweaks. Repeat process till you get rid of the error. How to Fix Cydia Shrink Screen Problem

How to Fix Cydia Small Screen ProblemBut how do I get into the Safe Mode?

If you’ve got SBSettings, rebooting in Safe Mode should be pretty easy.

  • In SBSettings, tap on the Power button
  • From the options, choose Safe Mode

Cydia 1-4 ScreenYour iPhone will now start in Safe Mode.

No SBSettings?

No problem. All you need to do is:

  • Reboot your iPhone
  • But press and hold the Volume up (+) button when you reboot.

This will put your iPhone in Safe Mode as it reboots.

After Safe Mode

So what next?

Once you’re in the Safe Mode boot, you will be shown a message. Just ignore that (press OK). Now, roll up your sleeves and let’s get to work: Cydia Twitter 1-4 Screen

  • Open Cydia
  • Go to Manage → Packages
  • From the installed tweaks and apps, remove the ones that aren’t totally compatible with iOS 6.x. Refer to this document for compatibility. Note that if the tweak isn’t completely compatible, it’s better to remove the tweak.
  • Queue it up for removal and do the same for all other tweaks that you suspect to be incompatible or causing the issue.
  • Remove them all finally.
  • Reboot your iPhone.

This time, reboot normally. No need to press the volume button now. Once your iPhone reboots completely, check Cydia and other apps which had been affected by the small screen problem. If things look good, you’ve fixed the problem. If not, repeat the whole process to remove more tweaks.

Note that this issue has been known to be caused mostly by tweaks so focus on that first.

If it helped, let others know too!

This might be the first comment I leave on a web forum, but I have to say that you are a life saver! I don’t know why but this created about 6 hours worth of problems for me. I usually am able to configure and troubleshoot my iPhone 5 6.1.2 without any problems, but this one had me stuck due to too much tinkering with root folder and device/ system settings :(. BUT THANKS a TON! Very informative.

      That’s great. Cheers… :)

Somehow going to safe mode won’t work, and my phone is just stuck on the apple logo, even when I hold the up button. I don’t get this.

    • http://www.igeeksblog.com/ iGeeksBlog

Try holding home and power long enough to see if your iPhone just plain
reboots. If it still gets stuck at the Apple logo, you might need to
restore it through iTunes! Data loss imminent! But if the iPhone reboots
(with or without shrunk display), at least you can start again.
Power-off and then power on and while powering on, press the volume up
      for sometime.

Is there a way to view the tweaks/installed things in cydia that arent compatible?

    • http://www.igeeksblog.com/ iGeeksBlog

When you open a package in Cydia, you see the description (wait for it
to load fully)… you’ll find info about the compatibility of the tweak

  • Alex Blaha

This is permanent fix, but there is a way to live with the incompatible tweak and use your apps normally at the same time. Lets say the tweak is semi-compatible but still causes this problem. You could just, after you reboot and the problem is there, just go into safe mode using SBSettings or something similar and then once your in safe mode just press exit safe mode on the status bar and then press restart. This will temporally eliminate the problem until your reboot again. Yes it is a little bothersome to do this every time you reboot, but as I said its temporary.

    • http://www.igeeksblog.com/ iGeeksBlog

Did you reboot and then press the volume up button? Because that’s how you put most iDevices in Safe Mode and it works.

Reboot the iPhone (Press home and power button simultaneously till the
iPhone screen goes blank. Then power up. But hold the volume up button
(+) when it reboots. This will boot iPhone in safe mode.
