How to Hide Stock iOS Apps Icons on iPhone Without Jailbreaking
I am not particularly bothered about unused stock apps on my iPhone but that’s only because I didn’t know there was a way to get them removed without jailbreaking. You know there are these apps that I don’t use at all: Calendar, Notes, Reminders, Newsstand, Weather etc. I have cool third-party apps for those purposes and so, these icons are plainly useless on the home-screen.
So when you find yourself in that spot where you want them removed but don’t want to jailbreak your iPhone, you can use this method.
Here is How to Remove Stock iOS Apps on iPhone or iPad Without Jailbreaking:
Step 1: On your iPhone, open Safari
Step 2: Navigate to ‘http://www.cydiahacks.com/hide.html‘
Step 3: You’ll find a list of links (like how you’d find on Settings), each name starting with ‘Hide‘
Step 4: If you want to hide the Clock app, you tap on ‘Hide Clock‘. For our example, I’ve chosen to hide the Clock app (So, ‘Hide Clock‘)
Step 5: Once you tap on it, a popup emerges. Press “Install“
Step 6: During the course of the installation, another popup saying ‘Unable to Download Application‘ comes up. Don’t worry, just press ‘Done’
Step 7: A new icon will replace the stock Clock icon on the iPhone (be aware that this is just icon replacement. The app is not uninstalled at all.)
Step 8: Now, tap and hold on one of the icons so all of the icons start jiggling. Tap on the ‘X‘ on the new icon that replaced the Calendar icon and you’re done! Stock.
Clock icon is removed from your home screen.
