Top 5 Apps for Editing Photos on iPad

An iPad without a photo capturing and image editing software should not be called a smart photo device. iOS 6 is a well-equipped image-editing operating system when combined with the right software. After a lot of experimentation, I came up with the top 5 apps that photographers and the average iPad geek can use to edit his/her images.

This list comprises of both free and paid image-editing apps.

The Top 5 iPad Photo Editing Apps

My criteria for picking the listed applications was:

  • Basic editing abilities – This criterion covers the reviewed application’s ability to colour photos, crop images, fixing exposures etc.
  • Advanced edits – This covers an application’s ability to work with layers, design different views and how intuitive its user interface is.
  • Ease of use – I guess this is self-explanatory, it focuses on the speed for editing, a software’s learning curve etc.

Following these criteria, the 5 applications which I recommend for your use are:

Filterstorm Pro:

Filterstorm Pro iPad AppThis iPad photo editing software appears right on top for it fulfils the entire stated criteria. It carries out basic edits such as cropping, zooming, the application of curves etc. with ease. It is also no stranger to more advanced image editing requirements such as gradient adjustment and the use of image filters. This intuitive application can be downloaded here; at approximately $18.
